VACATION CARE
We are looking forward to a great term break with our Vacation Care operating for the second time.

We enjoyed the experience immensely and we know the children had a ball. Everything from plants, pirates and pizzas, crocodiles, cooking and creative craft to DVDs and disco dancing.

We've organised a great program again this time - Masterchef and Mini Jeeps, and much more. Remeber that we only offer Vacation Care to students at Bateau Bay PS, and we anticipate places to be taken quickly.(30 places daily)

ATTENDANCE
Please notify staff as soon as possible if your child/ren will not be attending on a scheduled day.

If your child is not at school or leaves early for any reason you MUST contact us directly, as the school office is not always aware of a child’s attendance at After School Care and therefore will not let us know.
Notification is vital to the safety of your child/ren. An absent child is acceptable – a ‘missing’ child is not.

If your child does not attend a booked attendance – he/she will be marked absent and the normal fee will be charged. We have been lenient in this area in the past, but this has caused continuing problems with staff ratios resulting from non-attendance of children with bookings.

PARENT INFORMATION
Please check your Parent Information Folders - located at the Sign-In/Out area – at each attendance to ensure you have all receipts, reminders, notes and all relevant information necessary to your use of the service.

If you have any ideas or would like to add anything to our newsletter (e.g. –upcoming events, for sale, info for parents etc.) we would like to hear from you.

KID'S CORNER
Candyland Village
By Georgia, Melinda and Trinity

The sky was filled with pink fairy floss clouds. They were raining marshmallows, and the trees and bushes were made of peppermint leaves covered in sprinkles. The Smartie sun was shining down on Candyland Village.

Everyday a colourful rainbow appeared. One day it stopped coming up. The people of the village were worried that the rainbow wasn't going to come up anymore, so they hiked up the mountain of fudge. They found a red, yellow and orange crystal and realised it was from the rainbow. They hiked a little further up the mountain and found the rest of the crystals. They knew they had to put all the crystals back into the sun in the right order.

The next morning they hiked to the very top of the mountain and replaced the crystals, and the beautiful rainbow shone again in Candyland Village .

Once the children had completed their food platters, Carolyn was the Master Chef judge, selecting a winner from each table.

The children loved this activity and talked about if for weeks afterwards.
